Irina Adams: SURPRISE YOURSELF IN ART WORKSHOP
Come and enjoy a bit of fun with experimentation with pens, felt tips and colour. Easy for all ages and levels. It will be smiles all round.
Irena trained in art and woven textiles in Prague where she grew up. She loves colour and textures and her chief love is textiles, painting, printmaking and craft.
She runs Gelli printing workshops in her studio in Edenbridge.

Carol O’Dea: SUMINAGASHI The ancient art of Japanese Marbling
Suminagashi 墨 流 し or “floating ink” is the process of using ink and water to create "printable" patterns on water. It originated in Japan as early as the 12th century but is now listed as an endangered heritage craft.
In the workshop you will learn how ink and water are prepared, then I will show you how to make patterns on water with ink, water and brushes. We will manipulate the ink using our hands, straws or fans to gently move the water, and when you are happy with the pattern, we will use Japanese papers to pull a print. Each print is a completely unique piece of art.
Suminagashi is a very mindful, quiet art form which can be practiced purely for the joy of watching ink float on water.
Carol has studied Sumi e painting with a Japanese Master for four and a half years, gaining a qualification as an artist and more recently becoming a Sumi e Teacher. Carol is passionate about Japanese arts and crafts and has recently started learning and practicing Suminagashi, an endangered craft, which she wants to teach and share with others in order to spark interest and passion for this extraordinary art form.

Elitta Fell: DEMONSTRATION WITH A BIT OF ‘HAVE-A-GO
Elitta will be doing a demo directly onto a scarf where people can ‘have a go’ themselves.
Fascinated by nature, I try to interpret the beauty onto pure silk. The dye and the silk work together in amazing ways… Leonardo da Vinci’s “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” - I try to keep to that concept. Watercolour is similar but so different - I love the challenges presented by both techniques.
Drop-in, No children under 14 please.

Dan Huckfield: CHILL OUT WITH ART - MINDFULNESS WORKSHOP. Spend an hour being mindful, develop your confidence in talking about art, share ideas with others. We will focus on one of the paintings in the exhibition - and use the mindful technique of slow looking to engage with the painting and then discuss our thoughts and feelings as a group
Daniel is a creative health professional working at The Amelia Scott in Tunbridge Wells. He has run groups for many years and has developed this session to incorporate mindfulness and facilitated discussion.

Sarah’s relaxed, practical workshops encourage people to look at the world differently and discover just how capable the camera they already carry in their pocket can be. This friendly, hands on workshop explores composition, light, colour, storytelling and creative ways to see the world around you. Whether you're photographing gardens, wildlife, landscapes or everyday moments, you'll learn simple techniques that will help transform the photographs you make with your iPhone.
No previous photography experience is necessary, just bring your curiosity and your I phone.
Sarah Medway is a freelance graphic designer, wildlife illustrator and photographer based in Kent. With over 20 years running her own design studio, she combines creativity with a lifelong passion for observing and interpreting the natural world through photography and art. Sarah has also delivered photography workshops for organisations including The National Trust, Kent Wildlife Trust and Dogs Trust.
In 2014 she was commissioned by Leeds Castle to create ‘One Year in 900’, a year long photographic project marking the castle’s 900th anniversary. The work documented the castle and its grounds through the changing seasons and culminated in a solo exhibition.
