New for 2026 - Our beautiful Tipi is now available for private hire for corporate events, drinks receptions, family functions and Celebrations of Life. It can be hired for day time, or early evening events. All on a dry hire basis.
Situated on the edge of the Old Tennis Lawn, with views over the parkland, it is the perfect spot to bring together your team, celebrate a milestone or gather family for afternoon tea. You get exclusive use of the vast Tennis Lawn itself, perfect for mingling, relaxing or playing lawn games. There is an area of hard standing just outside the tipi for you to bring in food trucks and horse box bars. You can also choose a caterer to provide canapes or a hog roast or BBQ…..The possibilities are pretty endless!
Your guests are also welcome to explore the Gardens whilst they are here.
This beautiful, relaxed spot is a real treat. Perfect to bring your people together and create a really special and, memorable, occasion.
About the TIpi…
Our tipi is nestled down the side of the Old Tennis Lawn. With sweeping views of the Parkland to the front, and a backdrop of rhododendrons and trees to the rear. The lawn itself is overlooked by the impressive RIverhill House and also has splendid views over the Weald.
The tipi has a wooden floor and clear sides panels (To keep your guests dry whatever the weather). The front panels can be rolled up on fine days and the top also opens for airflow. There is a front or back entrance.
The tipi comes with twinkly inside lighting (Fairy lights around the beams and a large light at the top). There is electricity inside and a water source close by. We have toilets you can use, plenty of free parking, no corkage charge and a member of staff to be onsite throughout.
We also supply nine long wooden tables and eighteen benches (Each 2 metres long). So it is suitable for 60 people, seated, or 80 standing.
How the Dry Hire Works….
What is Dry Hire?…
The tipi is available to hire on a dry hire basis. This means that you have full control of the planning and running of your event. You can also source suppliers that work for you.
We are your backdrop and starting point. You are free to add decorations and floristry, bring in caterers, food trucks or hog roasts, source your own booze (No corkage), add in entertainment, games and music.*
* Because we are home to several families, and have very nice neighbours, all music must be acoustic, if live. Or played only at a background level. If you are looking for a big, crazy party, we are not the right place for you.
Catering Options..
We don’t charge any corkage here.
We have a recommended suppliers list we can share with you. All trusted suppliers who have worked here previously.
There is space on the hard standing, just outside the tipi, perfect for food trucks or horsebox bars. The space would also work really well for a hog roast.
We also have an incredible local company to recommend that specialises in delicious canapes, as well as buffets, afternoon teas and full sit down meals.
Additional Add-on Hire Options…
Why not hire the Walled Garden for 2 hours for arrival drinks? Guaranteed to wow your guests. We will close the gates so you and your guests can enjoy having it all to yourselves!
You can also choose to hire our Garden Room as a catering prep space, should your caterers require it. It is very close to the tipi and has electricity and lighting.
Both subject to availability. and an additional charge.
Hire Timings…
You can set up from 8am on the day of your event.
For day time events arrival for your guests is from 12:00. With guests to have left by 6:30.
For early evening events; guest arrival from 5:00, departure by 10:00pm.
These timings are to give you an idea of options. Please do discuss your ideas and requirements with us and we will do our best to accomodate.
There will only ever be one event here on your day.
Hire Fees
Exclusive hire of Tipi and Tennis Lawn for the hire period. - £1,250
The tipi is available for hire May - September, Weekends or weekdays.
Add on options….*
Hire of Walled Garden for arrival drinks reception (2 hours) - £250
Hire of Garden Room for use as a catering prep space for the duration of hire period - £200
On booking we require a 50% deposit, plus a £500 refundable damage deposit. Your balance is due three months before your date. We will also send you our full terms and conditions and booking fom to complete, and sign, in order to secure your date.
*Please note: The hire of the Walled garden and Garden Room are in addition to the TIpi Hire and are not available for stand alone hire.
